New evening Chef In Residence  …From Tuesday 16 January to Saturday 24 February 2018, we welcome Alex Hutton from ELOTE to our kitchen! For 6 weeks from Tuesday to Saturday, the ex Caravan head chef & his team will be serving delicious Mexican dishes such as achiote marinated coley tacos, adobo braised lamb quesadillas & mulato rubbed pork fillets as well as their namesake chargrilled sweetcorn.

A partnership between chefs Matt Klose (formerly Grub London) and Sam Soan (previously Head Chef at Camberwell Arms & Franks Cafe), their ethos is simple: to use the best seasonal produce  to cook creatively, sustainably and collaboratively. Check their mouth watering opening menu for us below!

NEW COFFEE…

Our new suppliers are called REDEMPTION. Their roastery is based inside the walls of Aylesbury Prison. As well as producing damn fine blends, it’s where they transform young offenders into specialty coffee industry professionals. They learn on the job, equipping them with the real skills they need to work in a cafe or roastery on the outside.

Join author/publisher Jacqueline Crooks for a FREE monthly creative writing workshops for beginners. Start your short story, novel, biography or autobiography.

She will facilitate writing exercises. Participants will have the opportunity to read their work and get feedback from her and the group.

There is no charge for the workshops but participants must buy drinks or snacks from the cafe. They have a great selection of cakes and light meals. The workshops will be taking place at the perfect time for afternoon tea.

The workshops are aimed at beginners, writers who either have a book they’ve always wanted to write or have written something that they want to develop.

Maximum of 25 participants only so please book in advance.

Coffee social afterwards for those who want more time to talk to other writers.

Please arrive at least half an hour before the workshop so you have time to buy your refreshments, find a seat and settle in. The workshop will start promptly at 3pm.
